exploring textures
With this task i had to use a pastel and colour over textures around the area on a newsprint.
After creating these textures I scanned them into the computer and place them in Adobe Photoshop. The page size I placed the image was 210 mm x 210mm and the resolution was 150 pixels/inch. I then created another layer in photoshop and changed the whole page in one colour. Next I changed the blending mode of the page which would blend both the texture and background together. The first blend I used was 'multiply'. It came out like this:
I used a yellow coloured background for this image.
In the next example I used the 'subtract' blend and still the same colour for the background.
The final design I changed the blend once again into 'linear burn'
After finishing the designs and trying figure out which blend I like most, I decided to go back to the the design which I used the 'subtract' blend on. I decided to like this the most as it had many similarities to other stuff. As it had a dark and dangerous effect I think it would suit for a dark or dangerous story, such as horror and thriller stories.
These textures are very bold and they look kind of like x-ray images. He has also said how he produced these images which is good because he has evaluated his work and annotated every detail.
